3 In The Morning is one of the most versatile rock oriented bands you will hear anywhere. Their melodic upbeat sound is rooted in rock, blues, swing/jazz, and traditional country. Strong vocals and harmonies abound. Their original songs have received honors at the Kerrville Folk Festival and several national songwriting competitions, and have been covered by other artists. Founding members, Rick Stockton (guitarist and main songwriter) & Helen Highwater (bass) handle the lead vocal duties, and when they harmonize it's reminiscent of the great singing duos of the past. Justin Hess (drummer and songwriter), has earned his credentials from years of playing on the Texas/Oklahoma roadhouse circuit. He was recently spotlighted in a feature article in the internationally distributed magazine Modern Drummer.

 Since leaving the Austin, Texas area for the mountains of Western Colorado in the late 90's, 3 In The Morning has performed steadily in Colorado with an occasional trip back to perform in the Lone Star State. They have recently shared the bill with Cabaret Diosa, John Lee Hooker Jr., David Lindley & Walley Ingram, James McMurtry, bluegrass superstar John Cowan, Nashville chart busters Ricochet, and Colorado favs The Three Twins. They have headlined at the Lake City Music & Wine Festival, the Tabor Opera House in Leadville, the Stoney Mesa Winery Summer Concert Series, the Burning Mountain Days Festival, Crested Butte Music & Arts Fest, Dreamtime Festival, Sun Fest, Ride The Rockies, and the Mountain Harvest Festival.

 Their first two CDs, released under the name "Thicker Than Thieves" , received good airplay in the area and established the band as one with a unique sound and great original songs. With a new CD coming soon, "3 In The Morning" will be busier than ever.
